Sol. Let the salaries of Laxman and Gopal one year before be L?, G? respectively and now L?, G? respectively, Then,
L1/G1 = 3/4 , L1/L2 = 4/5 , G1/G2 = 2/3
and L? + G? = 4160
Solving these equations, we get L? = Rs. 1600
